Miley Cyrus announced her new single “Flowers” during the second annual Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, which aired live on NBC and was co-hosted by Cyrus and Dolly Parton. The song will be released on January 13. The announcement followed posters appearing in various cities with the message “New Year New Miley.”
To tease the music video for “Flowers,” Cyrus released a 17-second clip showing her in a metallic gold outfit and sunglasses walking uphill. A second teaser clip, featuring Cyrus in a bathing suit strutting through sprinklers, was also released.
Cyrus celebrated the New Year and her upcoming “new Miley” era with a number of guests on the special, including David Byrne, Latto, Sia, Rae Sremmurd, Fletcher, and others. She and Parton closed out the night with a medley of “Wrecking Ball” and “I Will Always Love You.”
Cyrus has launched a countdown on her website, currently teasing something coming in about four days, with more announcements expected this week.
