Interview With Artist Cedes Heating Up Out Of Louisville KY

Hello Cedes! Thanks for your time today, how are things going?

A. Hello , I am doing great thank you! I have many creative ideas for my future projects and I can’t wait to share it with the world!

Where are you from?

A. I am from Columbia, Missouri and I moved to Louisville in 2018 to meet family and finish high school.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

A. My greatest Inspiration for my music would be my knowledge of expansion of my creative abilities because I create the art of music by being my true authentic self and I have a knowing that I can always improve, always do something different, and I can express anything I am feeling or catch any vibe in the moment so there is limitless growth moving forward and that really drives me to keep creating and trying new things.

What do you like to do to get into a creative space when you’re writing your music?

A. When I’m getting into my creative space I like to hum for a little bit and I can start to create a melody in my head and the words start to flow thru my head and I can relay that by either writing or recording (freestyling) usually when I start writing I get into a zone where not only am I writing a song but I am telling a story as well and being a former language arts fanatic in school that really helps me form the right message in a way that can be translated in my own perspective on life or the vibe in general.

How long have you been an artist?

A. I have been an artist my entire life from three age of 4 I was singing and dressing up and by elementary and middle school I was reading and writing poetry and short stories non stop. When I was 9 I got a Yamaha keyboard for. Hristmas and I taught myself how to play piano and my love for producing grew, by the age of 11 I had 13 instruments in my room and I would play them and write the lyrics in a notebook so I could sing along to my tunes. I was also In school and church choirs my entire life so I was able to have the proper singing lessons to grow as an artist.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

A. I would say the biggest challenge being an artist would be finding my confidence when it came to pushing my music because there are so many other artists with projects as well so I had to really tap into my authentic self and create the best music for me and push it knowing I put in the most effort I could and I did it for me and I didnt try to fit in with what the majority thinks. I view music like art and nobody’s artwork is the same so I feel like once you can come at peace with that the possibilities are endless.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

 A. I plan on releasing a project this year with 6-7 hit songs and visuals as well. My project will also be produced by me

Do you have any upcoming show dates in the near future?

 A. I have an upcoming show June 25th “ATL to Louisville” where I get the opportunity to compete in atlanta in a competition for a 50k project deal! It will be located at 1481 s Shelby st. Louisville, KY 40217. Show starts at 6pm so be there and rock out with me!

Who’s one artist you would like to collab with?

A. One artist I would love to collaborate with would be Beyonce because growing up I would sing every one of her songs word for word as loud as I could lmao and she really inspired to be the best I could be and push myself to sing better than the note before. If I could choose a rapper to collaborate  with I would choose Lil baby because I feel like he expresses his music in the same authentic way as myself and put those two together and you got a masterpiece

What is one message you would give to your fans?

A. A message for my fans, never give up!!!! No matter what! And always love everything you do because everybody has room to improve and the art of music is certainly not a competition, love yourself, and love your creative abilities no matter what anybody else thinks! So important!
