After a massive concert at the Travis Scott AstroWorld festival in Houston Texas, it left eight dead and many injured in a tragic event members of an insanely packed crowd surge towards the stage when others fell and got crushed by a human stampede.
The victims ranged from ages 14 to 27 and many many others were injured. A lot of people want to know how this actually happened and why it took place when this could’ve been prevented. With more crowd control and staff present the surge could have been controlled. It is said that more than 50,000 people attended the AstroWorld festival at NRG Park which is a stadium complex where the Astrodome and stadium stand. The company responsible for organizing this event called live nation issued a statement saying that they were heartbroken for the loss that impacted many families and the community of Houston.
Many people who were in attendance said they had a lot of heat pressure and waves being inside the packed crowd resulting in pressure in the chest sweating and a dehydrating type of atmosphere. Making it very easy for people to pass out or lose consciousness during the event depending on where they were located in the crowd.
Even before the event started there were many people that were stampeding into the entrance with no real security checkpoint. You could see some people being trampled at the very beginning of this event. An astonishing 300 people were reported and treated at the field hospital during this event.
Travis Scott stated that his prayers go out to the families and all of those impacted by the tragic loss of the ones who were not only killed but injured. He also stated that the Houston PD has his total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life and he’s committed to working together with the community to heal and support the families in need and he thanks the fire department and NRG Park for their media response and support.
With the magnitude of the amount of deaths and injury during this event Travis Scott is taking on massive amounts of lawsuits and many say that he put profits in front of the safety of the people in attendance of this event. Many say theres no way they didn’t consciously know that there was an extreme risk of harm to the concert goers by having 50,000+ people in attendance without much crowd control. Additionally from the beginning of the show there was no control or organization to keep people safe and their gross negligence, many people are seeking $1 million in damages that were injured.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families impacted by this event and hope that there is more enforcement and organization in the future for similar events.
